Burlington, Vt., February 1, 2022 – Today, Vermont Green Football Club announced it has signed Williston, Vt. native and University of Michigan Men’s Soccer commit Oliver Martin, the first player in club history. The signing is pending league and federation approval. 

“This is a historic moment for the Club. We’re thrilled to have Oliver come home to Vermont this summer to represent Vermont Green FC for our inaugural season,” said Vermont Green FC co-founder Matthew Wolff.

Martin is a product of Vermont’s Nordic Soccer Club as well as the New England Revolution Academy, he is currently enrolled at The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Conn. The 18-year-old will return to Vermont this spring to play under Head Coach Adam Pfeifer. 

“Ollie is a dynamic, exciting attacking player, one of the best players to come out of Vermont in the past 10 years. We are so excited to have him as part of our inaugural roster, and believe he will be a big part of our club for years to come!” said Head Coach and Sporting Director Adam Pfeifer.

“It has always been my dream to play very competitive soccer while representing my home state of Vermont. I am thrilled that Vermont Green FC will afford me that opportunity and bring high-level and high-energy soccer to our state. I look forward to showing everyone what Vermont has to offer.” said Oliver Martin. 

Vermont Green FC was officially announced as a USL League 2 club on October 12, 2021, and will play home games at the University of Vermont’s Virtue Field. Season tickets for the inaugural campaign are now available at vermontgreenfc.com/season-tickets.
