Vermont Green FC defeated USL1’s Portland Hearts of Pine 1-0 in a U.S. Open Cup First Round cupset on a 19 degree night in Burlington.
It will go down in Vermont Green history. David Ismail tapped home the winner in the 40th minute from a Ryan Zellefrow pass that sent the Virtue Field faithful into an absolute frenzy.
The Green will learn their Second Round opponent on Friday.
