Today, Vermont Green Football Club and the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers’ Association (VMSMA) announced a partnership to promote the brand, production, and sustainability of the state’s maple industry.
Formed in 1893, VMSMA is one of the oldest agricultural organizations in the United States. The Association is made up of Vermont maple sugar makers, maple packers, equipment manufacturers, and other industry leaders who are dedicated to producing the highest quality maple syrup found anywhere in the world. VMSMA’s members take great pride in maintaining a prosperous maple industry and a working landscape that future generations will enjoy.
Allison Hope, VMSMA’s Executive Director notes, “Vermont maple producers and industry leaders have, through innovation, created equipment and processes that improve efficiency and promote tree health. These innovations protect Vermont’s biodiverse sugarwoods and cut the carbon footprint of the maple industry. It makes sense for us to partner with other like-minded Vermont businesses, like Vermont Green FC. We look forward to celebrating maple-fueled wins for both the team and its fans!
Vermont Green FC is embarking on an ambitious mission to embed environmental justice into its competitive strategy, operational processes, and culture. The Club believes soccer can be a powerful catalyst for a more environmentally sustainable and socially just world. In addition to promoting the joys of maple to their fans locally and nationally, the club is eager to advocate for the protection of the natural resources and workforces that create the state’s treasured product.
“There is nothing more ‘Vermont’ than maple syrup, so for the club to partner with Vermont Maple Sugar Makers’ Association in a way that serves both celebration and advocacy, it was the perfect collaboration for our communities and our shared mission,” said Patrick Infurna, Vermont Green FC co-founder.
The club plans to include a “Maple Night” at one of their ten home matches this season that highlights the partnership and includes maple-themed merchandise for fans to purchase.
Over 1000 fans have already secured their 2023 season tickets — more than double the total from last season. Season tickets are just $70 for adults and $35 for youth. Single match tickets will be available soon.
