As we begin to embark on our inaugural season, we’d like to take a moment to recognize our first-ever team of interns. In order to make Vermont’s club run, we need the help of bright young individuals giving their time and energy to the project. Although we haven’t yet played a game at home, we’ve already built so much with the support of our interns, and we could not be more proud to be represented by them.

Pressbox Intern
Alexis Klein
Alexis Klein is from Westchester, NY, and will be finishing her undergrad at the University of Vermont this spring majoring in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. While attending UVM she has been a part of the UVM Athletics Department, working for their Scheduling and Event / Gameday Operations branch. Through this experience, Alexis has been able to pursue her long love for all sports and she is extremely excited to continue her passion with VGFC! Alexis really resonates with the team’s core values in environmental justice and creating a sustainable soccer experience for all fans, employees, staff, and team players. She is most excited about incorporating the team’s mission statements on social justice and climate justice into every match day experience!
Matchday Operations Interns
Arthur Clayton
“Arthur is an avid soccer fan from Lyme, NH who is currently finishing his Sports Management degree at Northern Vermont University. Outside of soccer, Arthur enjoys reading, hiking, and fitness. Arthur is looking forward to being a part of the Vermont Green FC team and he is excited to help spread VGFC’s message of environmental justice and sustainability. Additionally, Arthur is looking forward to assisting with matchday operations and helping the club’s first season run as smoothly as possible.
Kristen Precourt
Kristen is a South Burlington, Vermont native who is currently attending Endicott College as a dual major in Sport Management and Marketing. Growing up in Vermont, sustainability and environmental justice was a big part of her culture and way of life. When she learned that she was able to combine that with her love of sports, she couldn’t have been more excited to join the Vermont Green FC team. She can’t wait to see everyone at the matches on matchday!
Kelly Manley
Kelly Manley is from Hurley, NY, and finishing her Environmental Studies degree this spring at the University of Vermont. In addition to playing soccer for over a decade, she is a competitive ski racer and swimmer and has been involved with several community service organizations. Her love of the outdoors is what inspired her to pursue an Environmental Studies degree and her interest in sustainability and event management is what called her to Vermont Green FC! Kelly is thrilled to be a part of the team’s inaugural season and to be at the forefront of the sustainable revolution in sports.
Wala Amara
Currently enrolled in a graduate degree at McGill University in Public Relations & Communications Management, Wala Amara is a sports journalist based in Montreal and Toronto. After almost two years of full-time experience with the media, the 26-year-old felt she wanted to use her communications skills to further her involvement within a sports team. Amara felt intrigued by our mission relating to providing a sustainable environmental future to our planet through the love of the game and she decided to join. She is a polyglot and a fan of Chelsea FC. Wala Amara hopes to bring her skills and knowledge to VGFC.
Keith Fernandes
Keith Fernandes is from New Jersey, currently a Financial Analyst at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. He has previously lived in worked in UAE & India along with the United States, he joins us with 8 years of professional experience in market research & analytics along with a strong passion for the soccer industry. His main interest to join the Vermont Greens FC family is to gain a deeper understanding of the business side of the sport and support the sustainability and environmental justice mission the club is striving hard to achieve.
Pete Duda
Originally from Southbury, Connecticut, lifelong soccer player graduating from Boston College. I grew up in a family involved with many social justice movements and have always been passionate about finding a purpose-driven career. Seeing that VGFC is combining sport with climate justice was very inspiring, and I couldn’t wait to get involved. I am excited to help grow the club as much as possible, and foster some great community connections along the way!
Mike Baseggio
“Hi, I’m Mike, a new intern with VGFC!! My background is in hockey, but I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to the club. My interests include but are by no means limited to formatting, design, and content creation. With this opportunity, I hope to help establish ties between the community and VGFC, and really build an authentic culture from the ground up.”
William Tessmer
Highly motivated and opportunity-driven, William is heading into his junior year at the University of Vermont where he is studying Business Administration while minoring in Sports Management. Originally from Boston, he hopes to one day take his passion, paired with his degree to work in the front office of a major franchise. A lifelong sports fan, William is excited to take the first step and make his entrance into the sports world this summer by working with the Vermont Green FC.
Owen Greene
Owen Greene is from Williston, Vermont, and is just completing his freshman year at Middlebury College. He is an economics major and plays on the Men’s Soccer team. He is an incoming Business Operations Intern and player for VGFC. This past spring, Owen used his knowledge of the local community to aid in developing VGFC partnerships. In the summer, Owen will work under Connor primarily in ticket sales. Owen is looking forward to representing VGFC both on and off the field for the inaugural season!
Elliot Hannah
Grew up in Milton VT and attended Milton Elementary/High school. Graduated from Northern Vermont University with a bachelor’s degree in sports management, NVU men’s soccer alumni. I’m very excited about the opportunity to be involved with VGFC because it has been a dream of mine to work for a soccer franchise. The club has strong organizational values and a great commitment to environmental justice. It’s an honor to be a part of the club culture at VGFC.
Jeremy Fleming
I’m Jeremy Fleming, a recent grad from the University of Vermont with a degree in business administration. I’m from Chester, Vermont, and couldn’t be more excited about having a soccer team in our great state. I have experience running my own business and I’m ready to use what I’ve learned to help promote Green FC and the club’s goals (no pun intended!) Excited to see what the summer has in store!
