Alexander Hall (left) and Gabe Fernandez of the University of Washington played a crucial role in Vermont Green's undefeated 2025 season.

The College Cup is set. The 2025 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Soccer tournament’s “Final Four” will commence in Cary, NC this week with three Vermont Green FC players set to feature for their respective universities.

The University of Washington’s Gabe Fernandez and Alexander Hall defeated the #4 University of Maryland in the Elite 8, and the two Invincibles will now take on #16 Furman for a place in the final. Hall scored the third goal for the unranked Huskies in a 3-1 win, continuing a strong run of form for the silky young playmaker.

Xavi O’Neil—who played for the Green in the 2024 U.S. Open Cup and USL League Two season—advanced to the College Cup with St. Louis University, and is set to clash with #15 North Carolina State University.

Xavi O'Neil led the Green in assists in 2024. He will represent St Louis University at the 2025 College Cup.

The semifinals will take place on Friday, December 12, and the final will take place on Monday, December 15. All three matches will be played at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park, the same site where the University of Vermont won the NCAA National Championship in 2024.

Vermont Green FC players from the 2025 USL League Two season featured heavily in the Elite 8, with Portland’s David Ajagabe, Maryland’s Luca Costabile, Stephane Njike, and Joseph Picotto, and Georgetown’s Zach Zengue all narrowly missing out on the 2025 College Cup.

Best of luck to the Vermont Green players battling out for college soccer’s biggest prize!
