Vermont Green Football Club has unveiled the 2024 Home Kit: The Alpine Kit. The tops were designed by club co-founder Matthew Wolff and produced by official kit partner PlayerLayer with 100% recycled polyester.

“In the 2024 Home Kit, we want to pay homage to the ski and snowboard culture of Vermont.  The jersey honors the past, present, and future of our Green Mountain State, and the slopes that so many of us love to ski and ride.” said Wolff. “Honoring our winter sports in this way should also come with a reminder: the ever-present effects of climate change have already begun threatening our seasons, and Vermonters must continue leading the way in the fight for climate action.”

The 2024 Home Kit will once again proudly feature the logo of founding partners SunCommon across the chest. The top also features the logos of Seventh Generation and 1% for the Planet. The club is grateful for these partners, who are supporting the growing soccer community in Vermont, and are dedicated proponents of climate action and environmental sustainability.

“SunCommon is deeply rooted in and invested in our community, and we are excited to continue our partnership with Vermont Green FC for the third consecutive year. Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient community dedicated to environmental justice and sustainability. Our shared mission is not about short-term wins but about creating enduring change for a healthier planet. As neighbors who are committed to the communities in which we live, we are proud to stand with Vermont Green FC in championing long-term solutions to climate and social justice issues. This partnership is a testament to our ongoing commitment to making our towns and neighborhoods better places to live for generations to come,” said Madeline Hammer, Director of Marketing at SunCommon.

SunCommon will be raffling off a 2024 Home Kit kit at all ten home matches this summer.

The light green 2024 Home Kit, designed to represent the beauty and cultural significance of Vermont winters, is complemented by the spring-inspired Wildflower Kit, which will now serve as the club’s secondary and away jersey.

The 2024 Home Kit will be worn by Vermont Green during the Inaugural Women’s Match on June 22nd vs FC Laval.

Vermont Green FC kit partner, PlayerLayer, produces garments with a manufacturer that is a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, operating in state-of-the-art factories designed with climate change and environmental stewardship in mind. They use the Higg Index product tools to measure the environmental and social impacts of all products.

Each kit is made from approximately 23 recycled plastic water bottles and is Global Recycling Standard certified. Vermont Green FC is playing a small part in helping PlayerLayer convert more than 12 million recycled plastic water bottles into new products each year.

The two factories that produce the club’s kits are covered in 992 solar panels that will generate power savings equivalent to over 340 tons of carbon dioxide. This is equivalent to taking nearly 74 passenger vehicles off the road each year.

The factories have award-winning recycled waste management systems that include paper, metal, plastic, fabric, food, hazardous, and mixed waste. Waste fabric from production is collected and sent to a facility to be upcycled into other products.

The 2024 Home Kit is available for purchase in the Vermont Green FC shop and at every Vermont Green FC home match.
