Vermont Green Football Club has launched the 2025 Pre-Match Top ahead of the USL League Two season. The shirt is made from 100% recycled material and designed by club co-founder Matthew Wolff.
“We are very pleased with the 2025 Pre-Match Top, and how its imagery fits into the theme of the season,” said Wolff. “The shirt is a cream color, with vines and leaves similar to the 2025 Home Kit. We’re looking forward to seeing it on the pitch for the first time this weekend.”
The 2025 Pre-Match Top features the iconic Zero Gravity hummingbird logo on the chest, and the Green Mountain Solar and 1% for the Planet logos on the left sleeve and right hip. Vermont Green FC is proud to feature the logos of three Vermont-based partners who are committed to sustainability, climate action, and the growth of soccer in Vermont.
The 2025 Pre-Match Top is available now in the online shop and in-person at all Vermont Green FC home matches starting May 24th vs FC Laval. The top will be available for the first time in-person at the Season Kick-Off Party at Zero Gravity on Thursday, May 15th at 6pm.
“Though the kit launch is always an exciting way to mark the start of a new season, we are keenly aware of overconsumption, particularly in football fashion. We hope fans will be thoughtful with their purchasing decisions,” said Wolff upon the launch of the 2025 Home Kit. Fans of the Green are encouraged to recycle old kits, shirts, and hoodies at the Recover Brands Closed Loop drop-off at all home matches.
About The Kit
Vermont Green FC’s official kit partner, PlayerLayer, produces garments with a manufacturer that is a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, operating in state-of-the-art factories designed with climate change and environmental stewardship in mind. They use the Higg Index product tools to measure the environmental and social impacts of all products.
Each kit is made from approximately 23 recycled plastic water bottles and is Global Recycling Standard certified. Vermont Green FC is playing a small part in helping PlayerLayer convert more than 12 million recycled plastic water bottles into new products each year.
The two factories that produce the club’s kits are covered in 992 solar panels that will generate power savings equivalent to over 340 tons of carbon dioxide. This is equivalent to taking nearly 74 passenger vehicles off the road each year.
The factories have award-winning recycled waste management systems that include paper, metal, plastic, fabric, food, hazardous, and mixed waste. Waste fabric from production is collected and sent to a facility to be upcycled into other products.
The 2025 Pre-Match Top photography was shot by Patrick McCormack, modeled by Sam Mewis and Pat Johnson, and produced by Patrick Infurna and Patrick McCormack.
Vermont Green FC will begin the 2025 USL League Two season on May 18 at Boston City FC, and will host the 2025 Home Opener on May 24 at Virtue Field. Tickets are on sale for all 2025 matches: tickets.vermontgreenfc.com.
