Burlington, Vt. – Vermont Green Football Club will be taking on its community partner, Juba Star FC this Sunday, June 12 at 7pm at UVM’s Virtue Field. This match is included with season tickets and general admission is just $5 for non-season ticket holders. Part of ticket sales will go to the Juba Star fundraiser.
There will be no concessions, but supporters may bring food and drink, picnic-style, that may be enjoyed in the stands. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.
“Our goal is and always has been to provide a space for youth to thrive regardless of their ethnicity or socioeconomic status. The combined efforts of Vermont Green and Juba Star bring us closer to those goals. We are ecstatic and can’t wait for the match on June 12. We hope everyone comes out!” said Noor Bulle, Juba Star Football Club Assistant Manager.
“The Juba Star story is as much an inspiration for our club as it is a lesson in how to build a truly inclusive organization. Soccer is a unique venue in that it’s a space where anyone can thrive, no matter their socioeconomic status, ethnicity, or nationality. We are tapping into that dynamic with this partnership and are beyond excited to see our teams compete against one another at our June 12 friendly, while raising funds for their organization.” said Keil Corey, Vermont Green Football Club Co-founder.
