Burlington, Vt., May 3, 2022 – Today, Vermont Green Football Club announced it will host a friendly match vs an Elite 8 Soccer League All-Star team on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:00 pm at UVM’s Virtue Field. The match will serve as a soft opening for the club ahead of the May 28 USL League 2 home opener vs Black Rock FC. General admission seating will be available for fans.
According to Vermont Green FC co-founder Keil Corey, the scrimmage will give the club and fans an opportunity to familiarize themselves with their home stadium.
“This will be a great opportunity for Vermont Green FC fans to see the team in game action for the first time,” Corey said. “Elite 8 Soccer League has a history of supporting quality soccer here in Vermont, which will make a good test for our team before our home opener on May 28.”
Vermont Green FC 2022 roster contains a number of former Elite 8 players, including Ndayisenga VanDame, Dashiell Vermilya, Rida Kori, Riley Urie, Ekrim Hadzic, Chance Terrien and Nolan Jimmo.
Mike Nick, president of Elite 8 Soccer League, said he is grateful to Vermont Green FC for working to arrange the match.
“Founded in 2017, The Elite 8 Soccer League has become a staple in the Burlington area offering two divisions, year-round play, both indoors and out. As we look to expand our offering this spring, with a newly founded Elite 11 Soccer League, there’s no better way to kick off the season than by bringing an all-star cast of league players together for a friendly with Vermont Green FC.”
This match will be free for all 2022 Vermont Green FC season ticket holders. All season ticket holders will receive a complimentary ticket to bring a friend or family member.
Additionally, a limited number of single match tickets will be available for $5. Tickets are on sale now.
Vermont Green FC was officially announced as a USL League 2 club on October 12, 2021, and will play home games at the University of Vermont’s Virtue Field. Season Tickets — good for entry into all home games this year — are available for just $65 for adults, $35 for youth, and $35 for the special “Spread The Love” season ticket donation.
