Vermont Green FC has unveiled the Maple Cup trophy ahead of Wednesday’s match against CS Saint-Laurent. The trophy was designed and crafted in Vermont by Nate D’Aversa of D’Aversa Furniture.
Designed with ambrosia maple wood sourced in Vermont, the trophy is both a product of Vermont’s natural environment and of its talented local craftspeople.
“I didn’t know woodworking would take me back to the soccer world.” said Nate D’Aversa, who crafted the cup and played college soccer at NJIT. “It’s been amazing to take part in the Vermont Green community.”
Nate D’Aversa has coached in the Vermont soccer community with Queen City FC, Far Post SC, Capital SC, and South Burlington High School.
The Maple Cup will be contested for the first time on Wednesday, July 3rd at 6:00pm at Virtue Field. Tickets are still available, but won’t be for long.
