USL League Two announced today that Moussa Ndiaye and Zach Zengue have been named to the 2025 Eastern Conference Team of the Year. Ndiaye was also named Player of the Conference. In July, he was named USL League Two Defender of the Year.
Ndiaye appeared in 18 matches for the Green this summer, starting and playing every minute in each of them, while receiving only one yellow card. He scored 3 goals, and led a defensive unit that allowed only 8 goals in the regular season. He finished the 2025 season with a club-record 50 appearances all-time, becoming the Green’s first half-centurian in the USL League Two Final.
Zengue led Vermont Green FC this season in appearances (19) and goals (9). He finished his third season with the club as the joint all-time leader in assists with 8. He is second all-time in appearances with 46, and second all-time in goals with 17. His tireless work ethic and never-say-die mentality helped lift the club to its first ever national championship.
Ndiaye and Zengue served as the club’s co-captains in the 2025 season.
“Moussa and Zach were chosen as captains of this team because they play for the collective. They are true leaders. It’s only natural that playing with that type of club-first mindset has propelled them to national recognition,” said Vermont Green FC Sporting Director Adam Pfeifer. “We could not be more proud of these two for everything they’ve given to this club and community for the last three seasons. Even accolades like this are not quite enough to truly quantify the character of these two club legends.”
Congratulations Moussa and Zach!
