Vermont Green FC had to settle for a point on the road at Pathfinder FC after a 1-1 draw in Pleasant Valley, NY.

The game started with an intensity from the Green attack, taking only ten minutes for a breakthrough to come from Nacho Lerech. Storming down the right side, Nathan Messer unleashed a ball into the box that the Argentine goal scorer was there to head home.

Just four minutes after scoring though, a familiar and unwelcome thunder sound came from a short distance away, delaying the match for 30 minutes.

In the 23rd minute, Pathfinder found their equalizer. The striker was able to get in behind the defense and round Christoffersen.

After the goal, the Pathfinder defense would set in for over an hour of hard nose defense, blocking shots and sitting back behind the ball.

Unfortunately, despite the relentless Green attack, the Vermonters were not able to unlock the defense in the second half and the game would end tied at 1-1.

Vermont Green FC now have just one regular season game left, this Sunday at 7pm against Boston City FC. Sitting in third, Vermont will need some help around the league if playoff hopes are to remain alive. Seacoast United Phantoms must lose their final match at Boston Bolts on Saturday night.

Regardless of the outcomes, Sunday night at Virtue Field will be a celebration of a fantastic regular season on and off the pitch. We expect a quick sellout and a raucous atmosphere at Virtue Field. Come out for one more regular season game and show the Boys in Green some love! You can get tickets at tickets.vermontgreenfc.com.
