Vermont Green FC head to Nashua, New Hampshire on Tuesday night for a USL League Two clash with Black Rock FC. The Vermonters will look to correct a difficult draw at Virtue Field on Saturday night, while the hosts enter the match loaded with confidence after three straight league wins.

HISTORY

Vermont Green FC and Black Rock FC have played six matches in three seasons, including Vermont’s first ever home match in 2022.

The Green have gotten the best of the roving Black Rock, who have had four homes in three states in the past five seasons. While Vermont Green FC are 5-1 against the current New Hampshirites, Black Rock has regularly made things difficult for the Vermonters, including a 1-0 win in Lake Placid in 2022, and a hard-fought match at Virtue Field in 2023 that required some late Jake Ashford heroics for the Green to secure all three points.

In 2024, Vermont beat Black Rock twice in the month of May: 2-0 in New Hampshire, and 1-0 at Virtue Field.

Yaniv Bazini scored the second goal when Vermont Green defeated Black Rock 2-0 on May 22nd, 2024.

BLACK ROCK IN FOCUS

Black Rock FC was founded in 2013, with a base of operations in Great Barrington, MA. The developmental club has had great success producing talent, including the likes of Leeds United and Everton star Jack Harrison.

They joined USL League Two in 2018, becoming champions of the Northeast Division in their first season. Since then the club has moved home stadiums frequently throughout the region, including a stint at Manchester, VT’s Applejack Stadium, where current Vermont Green FC assistant coach Brad Agoos was head coach.

Black Rock FC finished 9th in the Northeast Division with just 2 points, but have bounced back considerably in the 2025 campaign. Currently, Black Rock have 10 points from 5 games, and have strung together three consecutive 1-0 victories headed into Tuesday’s contest.

#18 Marcell Papp, an attacking midfielder from Budapest, has the ability to cause defenders headaches with his tricky footwork.

PAPP IN ATTACK

Vermont Green has enjoyed the presence of University of Vermont players since its inception, but the Catamounts roving the Northeast Division for the Green in 2025 come with a special aura. One of the National Champions is Marcell Papp, who famously scored the equalizer in the NCAA national championship match. The Hungarian attacker has been utilized in multiple positions on the field, as a starter and off the bench. Chris Taylor knows he can depend on Papp to be a game changer.
