The Green hope to remain unbeaten after a perfect 3-0-0 start, but they’ll need to navigate a historically gritty home side on their turf. Vermont Green FC and Albany Rush have played five times dating back to 2022, with the Green coming away victorious in all five meetings. Despite the lopsided record, the matches have usually been close. In the last meeting in Albany, Vermont won narrowly by a score of 2-1.
ALBANY RUSH IN FOCUS
The New York club are 2W-2L-0D through four games and sit in 4th place in the Northeast Division table. The Rush’s two victories this season are over Boston City FC and Black Rock FC.
So far in the short season, the Rush have leaned on Williams College standout Jefferson Stauffer, who has two goals in four starts. The Vermont defense will need to keep an eye on #30—a Seacoast United Academy product from Gloucester, Mass—to turn their run of three league shutouts into four.

An early season bright spot for Chris Taylor’s side has been the inclusion of incoming University of Vermont centerback Rui Aoki. The determined and precise Japanese defender has paired well with the rock solid veteran Moussa Ndiaye, and has found strong chemistry with the captain.
Calm under pressure, skillful in his passing, and never afraid to put in a crunching tackle or two, Rui could be called upon to continue his work and, if all goes to plan, secure another clean sheet for the Green.
