Two Vermont Green FC players have been invited to the 2024 adidas MLS College Showcase. Jackson Castro and Reid Fisher are amongst a group of 44 invitees who will attend the showcase in San Diego, CA from December 11-14th. The showcase gives Major League Soccer clubs the opportunity to evaluate top collegiate players ahead of the 2025 MLS SuperDraft on December 20th, 2024.
“So much of what we’re trying to do at Vermont Green is to set players up to be in the best position to become professionals,” said Adam Pfeifer, Sporting Director. “Jackson and Reid were fantastic for us this summer in Vermont, and that led to them having really strong seasons at Creighton and San Diego State. Those two deserve the recognition, and I think there are plenty of Major League Soccer clubs that should have their eyes on them.”
Vermont Green FC players Eythor Bjorgolfsson (2022), and Nate Jones (2023) attended the showcase in their respective years; both were drafted in the subsequent MLS SuperDrafts. Since 2022, Vermont Green have had five players selected in the MLS Draft: Eythor Bjorgolfsson, Owen O’Malley, Nicholas Christoffersen, Nate Jones, and Zach Zengue.
