Vermont Green FC Head Coach Chris Taylor has announced his staff for the 2026 season. Lee Williamson, Rob Emmett and Jed Sass will return as assistant coaches, and are joined by newcomer Jonah Stekly. Hannah Tremel will return as athletic trainer, supported by Dr. J.P. Begly.
Hannah Tremel will return to Vermont Green in 2026. Tremel has worked for the University of Vermont’s women’s skiing and men’s soccer programs since 2021. Prior to UVM, Tremel was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Boston University, and an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh, her hometown school. Tremel is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association.
Lee Williamson of Essex Junction will return for his third season with the Green. He is a member of the senior staff at Far Post Soccer Club, where he has worked since moving to Vermont from Ballyclare, Northern Ireland at the age of 18. Williamson played at the youth level throughout Europe, and the senior level for Crusaders FC in Belfast.
White River Junction-native and Middlebury College men’s soccer alum Jed Sass will return for a second summer with the Green. A Hartford High School graduate, Sass’ coaching resume includes stints at Far Post SC and St. Michael’s College. He currently works with the Harvard men’s soccer team.
Norwich men’s soccer Head Coach Rob Emmett joined Vermont Green as goalkeeper coach midway through the 2025 season, replacing Ben Woelfinger, who moved to Eintracht Frankfurt. Emmett brings prior experience working at Middlebury College, Binghamton University, SUNY Cortland, and Far Post SC.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will be supported by Dr. J.P. Begly, MD. Dr. Begly has been a dedicated volunteer for Vermont Green since the inaugural season in 2022, lending his expertise to assess and treat injuries while sharing sports medicine insights and guidance on preventive care. Begly practices orthopedics and sports medicine at Central Vermont Medical Center, a member of the University of Vermont Health Network, from offices in Waterbury Center and Berlin.
“I’m delighted to announce our 2026 coaching staff. All of our coaches from the 2025 National Championship return, which gives us great continuity in how we work. In addition we’re adding an up-and-coming coach who will bring a new perspective to the group.
The work of Lee, Jed and Rob in our run to becoming National Champions should never go unnoticed and we have a great working relationship.
Jonah is new to the group and I’m excited to have some new ideas and personality within the staff. Our aim is to never stand still and it is important we continue to grow as a staff.
Lee and Jed do a lot of the work on the training ground, their energy sets the tone for every training session. Their creativity in session design and way of communicating makes for a great environment at Virtue Field. Rob brings organization and direction to the goalkeeping group and his experience as a head coach in the college game builds a lot of trust for me.
Hannah was one of the best signings we made in 2025. She is extremely popular with the players and her expertise is a major part of our success. We are delighted she chose to return to the Green as we pride ourselves on keeping our players healthy throughout the summer.”
