Two Vermont Green FC players were crowned NCAA national champions on Monday night in Cary, NC.
Gabe Fernandez and Alex Hall—both part of the 2025 Vermont Green FC undefeated season—played for the unranked University of Washington team that defeated #15 North Carolina State University 3-2 in the College Cup Final. The victory marks two national championships in six months for the Seattle-area natives.

Fernandez and Hall both played prominent roles in the final and throughout the season for their hometown Huskies. They finished the campaign 16-6-2, including six road victories en route to the program’s first national title. Harrison Bertos—formerly of Seacoast United and Ballard FC—clinched the title with a golden goal in overtime.
The two dynamic young talents made their Vermont Green FC debuts in June, making an instant impact for Chris Taylor’s unbeaten Green. They both quickly became fan favorites and helped propel Vermont to the 2025 USL League Two National Championship.
