Vermont Green FC is launching a raffle to support the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) VT, inspired by their relief efforts for farmers in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom affected by flooding. The raffle prize will be a Vermont Green FC kit, hat, scarf, a Bivo water bottle, and a box of Plink.
For every $5 donation to NOFA-VT you will receive 1 raffle entry. Donate, and fill out our donation form by 11:59pm on Friday, July 25th. Vermont Green FC will match donations up to $1,500.
NOFA Farmer Emergency Fund offers crucial support to Vermont’s organic and member farmers facing crises such as extreme weather or economic hardships, ensuring the viability of a just and ecological local food system.
“Environmental justice is a core part of the Vermont Green mission. As the threat of climate change grows, we see our very own community members face the effects year after year, and season after season. As a club for the people of Vermont, this raffle is a small way of supporting the integral farmer community,” said Mahder Teferra of Vermont Green FC.
Established in 1997, the fund aids farmers with emergency cash flow, helping them to recover from disasters and continue their crucial role in Vermont’s agriculture and environment.
Committed to building resilience among farmers, the fund is a testament to NOFA-VT’s dedication to an agricultural future that is economically sound and socially equitable.
UPDATE
At the conclusion of the raffle, $3,928.03 was raised from 46 unique donations and a $1,549.79 match from the club.
