Vermont Green FC Sporting Director Adam Pfeifer has announced the addition of Maximilian Kissel and Ian Abbey on the final day of registration. The two attacking players join the club ahead of the USL League Two Playoffs. The Round of 32 begins this Friday, July 18th at Virtue Field.

For Vermont soccer fans, Kissel will need little introduction. The German-American center forward scored 11 goals for the University of Vermont in 2024, including the NCAA National Championship match winner in overtime. He was named 2024 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player, and led the entire nation with six game-winning goals. Kissel will join up with the Green—and several of his UVM teammates—in the quest to bring more silverware to the Green Mountain State. He will wear the #47.

Ian Abbey, who recently transferred from Rutgers University to Providence College, also joins the Green. Abbey is a skillful and creative winger, known for his pace and dribbling ability. He is a product of the Philadelphia Union Academy and will wear the #30 for Vermont Green.
