Vermont Green FC Sporting Director Adam Pfeifer has announced the addition of three players to the squad before the USL League Two transfer deadline:
Bernardo Prego has returned to Vermont from his native Portugal. The skillful right back played 22 matches for Vermont Green FC in 2023 and 2024, including in the U.S. Open Cup. He played collegiately at Franklin Pierce and Providence College. He will wear the number 42.
Sam McCann–who played for the Green in 2022 and 2023 before spending 2024 and 2025 with AC Connecticut—returns to Vermont. McCann played in seven competitive matches for the Green, scoring three goals. In 2024, the speedy striker had 12 league goals for AC CT, good for fifth best in the nation. He will wear the number 45.
Also transferring from AC Connecticut is Gianluca Armellino. A product of the New England Revolution Academy, and a current University of Vermont student-athlete, Armellino appeared in 4 matches for AC CT. He will wear #29 for the Green.
The transfer deadline has now passed for acquiring players from within League Two, but the club has until Sunday, July 13th at 11:59pm EST to sign unaffiliated players.
