Vermont Green Football Club Head Coach Chris Taylor has announced the full men’s sporting staff for the 2025 USL League Two season. The first-year head coach has appointed Lee Williamson, Ben Woelfinger, and Jed Sass as assistant coaches. Hannah Tremel will be the club’s athletic trainer, supported by team doctor J.P. Begly. Adam Pfeifer will continue in his fourth season as the club’s sporting director.
Lee Williamson of Essex Junction will return for his second season with the Green. Williamson joined Adam Pfeifer’s staff in 2024 for the U.S. Open Cup and USL League Two season, and will rejoin the staff under Chris Taylor. He is part of the senior staff at Far Post SC, and has experience playing at the youth level throughout Europe, and the senior level for Crusaders FC in Belfast, Northern Ireland, a short distance from his hometown in Ballyclare.

Ben Woelfinger will join the club as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach. Woelfinger was part of the NCAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024 at Denison University, and played his collegiate career at St. Lawrence University. Born in Bad Homburg, Germany, he played at the youth level for Kickers Offenbach Academy from 2015-2018. In the summer of 2023, the goalkeeper played for Black Rock FC, including starting one match against the Green.
White River Junction-native, Middlebury College men’s soccer alum, and current St. Michael’s College Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach Jed Sass will be a new addition to the Vermont Green FC coaching staff in 2025. Sass graduated from Hartford High School and Middlebury College before beginning a career in coaching and teaching. He has been a coach at Far Post SC since 2020.

Hannah Tremel will join Vermont Green FC as the club’s athletic trainer. Tremel has worked for the University of Vermont since 2021, with the women’s skiing and men’s soccer programs. She was an integral part of the men’s soccer team’s historic National Championship-winning season in 2024. Prior to UVM, Tremel was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Boston University, and an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh. Tremel is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association.

Tremel will be supported by Dr. J.P. Begly as team doctor. Dr. Begly has been a dedicated volunteer for Vermont Green FC since the inaugural season in 2022, lending his expertise to assess and treat injuries while sharing sports medicine insights and guidance on preventive care. Begly practices orthopedics and sports medicine at Central Vermont Medical Center, a member of the University of Vermont Health Network, from offices in Waterbury Center and Berlin.
