LIGHTNING PROTOCOL

If we have to contend with severe weather, here’s the deal:

  • The match will be played through heavy rain.
  • If there is a lightning strike within 6 miles of Virtue Field, we will need to delay the match by 30 minutes. Every strike restarts the clock.
  • If we have to evacuate the stadium for lightning, fans must seek shelter in their cars or under the cover of the Gucciardi Fitness & Recreation Center.
  • We will keep fans updated via email and social media.

WELCOME TO VERMONT

Welcome to Virtue Field! Expect a lively atmosphere, local concessions, and a celebration of community, environmental stewardship, and Vermont. Be sure to arrive early!  Gates open 1.5 hours before kickoff.

You can expect a bar menu led by our partners at Zero Gravity, a rotating selection of local food vendors, and free Ben & Jerry’s!🍦

Land Acknowledgment

Vermont Green FC acknowledges that our playing ground sits on land that is a site of meeting and exchange for Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. Ongoing generations of Indigenous peoples, namely the Western Abenaki [A-ben-A-kee], have stewarded this land. The Western Abenaki are the caretakers of this land which they call Ndakinna [in-DAH-kee-NAH], or “homeland.” We recognize the trauma that violence and forced displacement by the hands of colonizing peoples has caused these communities. We are guests on this land and will respect and uplift Indigenous histories, cultures and peoples. We give thanks for the opportunity to share the joys of this beautiful land and in turn are committed to protecting it.
